Welcome to Absorpack â Ultimate Moisture Protection Solutions
Why Moisture Control Matters
A desiccant is a powerful moisture-absorbing substance engineered to maintain a perfectly dry environment. By actively extracting water vapor from enclosed spaces, Absorpack solutions prevent food from spoiling, safeguard sensitive electronics from short-circuiting, and keep metal components from rusting.
Whether your goods are in storage or traveling across global supply chains, we keep them pristine.
Industry Applications
đ Medicine & Pharmaceuticals
Preserve drug efficacy. Our specialized, non-toxic silica gel and clay canisters or blister-pack inserts keep pills dry and prevent chemical degradation.
đŚ Electronics & Hardware
Protect your high-value tech. Eliminating humidity inside packaging prevents micro-corrosion and devastating short circuits.
đ Eco-Friendly & Natural Packaging
Looking for sustainable options? Ask about our natural desiccants. Sourced from biodegradable and eco-friendly earth materials, they naturally attract and trap moisture without synthetic chemicals.
Essential Knowledge: Desiccant FAQs
How long do desiccants last?
It all depends on exposure. In a completely airtight, sealed container, an Absorpack desiccant can protect your items for 1 to 2 years (with an overall shelf-life of 1 to 3 years depending on storage). However, if left completely open to humid air, a pack will reach maximum capacity within 24 to 48 hours.
How do I know when a desiccant is full?
When a desiccant gets wet or saturated, moisture fills its microscopic pores, and it temporarily stops pulling water from the air. You can easily determine if a pack is spent by checking its weight, physical texture, or via color-indicating beads.
Can desiccants be reused?
Yes! Silica gel desiccants can typically be recharged and reused 3 to 5 times before their capacity declines. To refresh them, take the beads out of their packets, place them in an oven on low heat (175°Fâ200°F) for a couple of hours, and then store them in an airtight container until needed.
Safety & Handling Guidelines
Safety First: The common desiccants we utilize (like silica gel and clay) are chemically inert, non-toxic, and safe to handle. However, they always carry a “Do Not Eat” label because the small packets pose a severe choking hazard for children and pets.
- Skin Contact: While silica gel is safe to touch, prolonged contact can draw moisture from your skin, occasionally causing mild dryness or redness.
- Inhalation: Avoid tearing packets open haphazardly; inhaling loose desiccant dust can severely irritate your respiratory system.
- What if it’s swallowed? If a few loose beads are accidentally consumed, they will pass harmlessly through the body. However, if a child or pet swallows or gags on a whole packet, treat it as a choking emergency and seek medical help immediately.
- Disposal: If you aren’t reusing your old packets, they are not standard curbside recyclable. Tear the packets open, empty the inert silica beads directly into the general rubbish bin, and discard the outer packaging.
